So, with the Government just announcing that outdoor events can go ahead without restrictions, this means we are all good to go for the WUU2022!
This is great news for the events industry, and I am very excited about this news! It means we can move forward with planning the event and run it the way it is intended

With changes coming up to the covid framework soon, it finally sounds like we may be getting some more freedoms here in NZ. For the events sector (among many other sectors) this comes as a sigh of relief, but we are still obviously in uncertain times.I think for events such as the WUU2K, where the event is run outdoors, there needs to be no limits and eased restrictions, and I believe this will happen soon. I mean, it has to right? The same goes for all outdoor sporting events.
The WUU is getting more entries but things have clearly been a lot slower with hesitation around covid and entering events. I fully get it and understand that people want more assurance that the event they enter will go ahead, and hopefully we're getting to that stage after 2 years of uncertainty! SOME STATS SO FAR:

YOUNGER ONES WANTING TO RUN THE WUU2022 I am allowing under 18's to enter the 21km category for 2022 with parental consent ONLY. If your child does want to run in the 21km event, you simply need to email me stating that you give consent for your child to run in the event. I know there are some of you out there who would love to run either as a family, or with your child, so feel free to sign up together. Just please email me first and I will send you the age override code. Please note that your child will still need all the comp gear even if you run together. |
