Frequently asked questions

F.A.Q

Is it a challenging event?

The WUU2K is a very challenging event. I'm not going to sugar coat it in any way at all. Do not enter this run unless you have trained for it sufficiently. As a gauge, most will finish the 43km Marathon in around 6-7 hours, and around 8-9 hours for the Ultra. Train with this in mind.

Will I make the cut-off?

If you've trained for the event, you'll understand there are a lot of hills to run up, and down. The 62km event cut-off is 12.45pm, so this gives you 6 hours and 15 minutes to run around 34km. It's a tough 34km though. Run the flats and downhills. Walk the ups and you will finish this event.

How far is it exactly?

The Marathon is around 43km, so slightly over the usual 42km marathon.
The Ultra event is close to 62km

What's the elevation?

Over the Marathon course you will take in around 2km in elevation
The Ultra Marathon course is close to 3km in elevation

Will I get a medal?

Every finisher will receive a custom-made WUU2K medal.

What will be at the
Aid stations?

There will be Tailwind nutrition, Water, Soft Drinks, Vegemite/Pics Peanut butter sandwiches, chips, biscuits, sweets, fruit, and hopefully some home-baked goods. There may even be cupcakes for you at the end. Mmmm cupcakes.

What if I don't like my T-Shirt colour?

If you really don't like your T-Shirt, you can always give it back! Our amazing Compressport custom Tees come as part of your entry. We take a team vote each year, and that's what you get! You MAY have a chance to swap colour at race rego. Only if there are other colours left though. Otherwise....just enjoy it!

'Why should I enter this?'

Life is a challenge. In life we accept this fact. For an event like this where training is an essential ingredient, life flows along parallel to this. We train for life, so running this event is like an essential part of the learning curve of life. Challenge yourself to achieve the somewhat unachievable....and reap the rewards.
